Period cabinetmakers used the four-pointed plate to spread the load across thin drawer fronts in oak and mahogany. We have kept the form unchanged.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe knob is sand-cast in solid brass at our Birmingham workshop. Each piece is then filed and hand-finished. No two are exactly identical — the fine variation in the flutes is correct, and is the work.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAvailable in two diameters (32mm and 38mm) and three finishes. The polished unlacquered brass is left bare; it will darken with use and develop a living patina. The aged brass is finished to a stable, even tone.
