Polished unlacquered brass is the finish at the centre of the 2026 luxury kitchen — and the one we recommend for owners who want their hardware to age with the house.

The piece is cast in solid brass, polished to a bright mirror surface, and shipped without any lacquer or sealant. From the first day, the bare metal begins to react with the air, with the hand, with the kitchen. Over the first months it darkens evenly. Over the first years it brightens in the places that are touched and darkens in the places that are not.

This is the "living finish." We do not consider a developing patina to be tarnish; it is the metal taking a record of the kitchen it serves.

Care: wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use brass cleaner or Brasso unless you intend to restart the patina cycle.
